Privacy Policy

We only collect what we need to show you your gambling spending patterns. Nothing more.

• Bank transaction data via Plaid. When you connect your bank, we receive transaction details (merchant names, amounts, dates). We use this to identify gambling-related transactions and calculate your total spending.
• Check-in data. Your daily mood, triggers, and notes -- the things you log to track your recovery.
• Goals and streaks. The recovery goals you set and your progress toward them.
• Account information. Your email address, used to create and secure your account.

We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or anything else outside of what is listed above.

Your data is used for one purpose: to show you your gambling spending patterns and support your recovery. That is it.

• Detecting and categorizing gambling transactions
• Calculating your total losses and spending timelines
• Tracking your daily check-ins, moods, and triggers
• Generating recovery reports you can share with a therapist
• Showing your streak and progress over time

We do not use your data to build advertising profiles. We do not run analytics on your gambling habits for anyone else's benefit. Your data serves you and only you.

We use Plaid to connect to your bank -- the same infrastructure behind Venmo, Robinhood, and most major fintech apps.

• We never see your bank credentials. You log in directly with your bank through Plaid's secure interface. Your username and password are never shared with us.
• Read-only access. We can only read transaction data. We cannot move money, make payments, or modify your accounts in any way.
• You can disconnect anytime. Revoke access from your BetOnYou settings or directly through Plaid's portal.

Your data is stored in Supabase, a trusted cloud database platform, with the following protections:

• Encryption. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS/SSL).
• Row-level security. Database policies ensure you can only access your own data. No other user -- and no BetOnYou team member -- can see your transactions or check-ins through the application.
• Secure authentication. Account sessions are managed through Supabase Auth with industry-standard practices.

These are not aspirational statements. They are hard rules.

• We will never sell your data to third parties. Not to data brokers, not to advertisers, not to anyone.
• We will never share your data with gambling operators. No sportsbook, casino, or gambling company will ever receive information about you from us. Period.
• We will never use your data for advertising. There are no ads in BetOnYou. There never will be.
• We will never charge people in recovery. This tool is free.

Your data is yours. You can delete all of it at any time.

• Go to Settings in the app and choose to delete your data.
• This removes your transactions, check-ins, goals, and account information from our database.
• Deletion is permanent. We do not keep hidden backups of deleted data.

You can also email us at support@betonyou.app to request data deletion, and we will take care of it within 48 hours.

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will notify you through the app and update the date at the top of this page. We will not quietly weaken your privacy protections.
