Terms of Service
Last updated: February 12, 2026
These terms govern your use of BetOnYou. We have written them in plain English because we believe you should actually understand what you are agreeing to. By using BetOnYou, you agree to these terms.
What BetOnYou Is
BetOnYou is a financial awareness tool. It connects to your bank account, identifies gambling-related transactions, and shows you your spending patterns. It also provides daily check-ins, mood tracking, streak counters, and recovery reports.
Our goal is to give you clarity about your gambling spending and tools to support your recovery journey.
What BetOnYou Is Not
This is important, so we want to be direct:
- BetOnYou is not therapy, counseling, or medical treatment. It is a self-help awareness tool.
- BetOnYou is not a substitute for professional help. If you are in crisis or struggling with gambling addiction, please reach out to a qualified professional.
- BetOnYou does not provide financial advice. We show you your data -- what you do with it is up to you.
Need help now? Call the National Council on Problem Gambling helpline: 1-800-522-4700. It is free, confidential, and available 24/7.
Accuracy Disclaimer
We work hard to accurately identify gambling transactions in your bank data. However, transaction detection may not be 100% accurate.
- Some gambling transactions may not be detected if the merchant name is unclear or categorized differently by your bank.
- Some non-gambling transactions may occasionally be flagged incorrectly.
- Transaction amounts reflect what your bank reports to us through Plaid. We display this data as-is.
You can review and correct flagged transactions within the app. The numbers we show are meant to give you a clear picture, but they should not be treated as a certified financial audit.
Your Responsibilities
When you use BetOnYou, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information when creating your account.
- Keep your account credentials secure. Do not share your login with others.
- Only connect bank accounts that belong to you.
- Use the service for its intended purpose -- personal financial awareness and recovery support.
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or misuse the platform.
Account & Termination
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your Settings page, or by emailing us at support@betonyou.app.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or misuse the platform. If we ever need to do this, we will try to notify you first and explain why.
Service Availability
We do our best to keep BetOnYou available and running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
We also rely on third-party services (Plaid for bank connections, Supabase for data storage) that may experience their own downtime.
Limitation of Liability
BetOnYou is provided “as is.” We are building this because we genuinely want to help, but we need to be honest about the limits of what a software tool can do:
- We are not liable for decisions you make based on the data we show you.
- We are not liable for inaccuracies in transaction detection or amounts reported by your bank.
- We are not liable for any losses, damages, or consequences arising from your use of the service.
- Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid to use BetOnYou -- which is $0, because it is free.
This does not affect your statutory rights under applicable law.
Getting Help
BetOnYou is a tool, not a treatment program. If you or someone you know is struggling with problem gambling, these resources can help:
- National Council on Problem Gambling: 1-800-522-4700 (24/7, free, confidential)
- Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741
- Gamblers Anonymous: gamblersanonymous.org
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app and update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of BetOnYou after changes means you accept the updated terms.
